AMAYA PREMIER AGENCY CONDO INSURANCE
If you’re considering changing your condo insurance provider or simply want to compare quotes to see if you can save, Amaya Insurance is here to help. Our team of experienced insurance professionals can guide you in finding the right condo insurance policy for your unique needs. Condo insurance is never one-size-fits-all, so we take into account your unit, the condo association’s master policy, your coverage needs, and your budget to create a policy designed specifically for you.
What Is Condo Residential Insurance?
Condo residential insurance, often called an HO-6 policy, is designed to protect the parts of your condo unit that the condo association’s master policy does not cover.
While the master policy typically insures the building and shared areas, your individual condo insurance takes care of “walls-in” coverage, including your personal belongings, interior fixtures, and liability.
Condo insurance is also considered a package policy, meaning it covers not only damage to your unit and possessions, but also your personal liability if you or a family member accidentally cause injury or damage to others, including incidents involving your household pets.
What Is Covered by Standard Condo Insurance?
A typical HO-6 condo policy includes:
-
Interior Structure (Dwelling Improvements) – Fixtures, flooring, cabinetry, and sometimes walls, depending on the master policy.
-
Personal Property – Furniture, clothing, electronics, and valuables.
-
Loss of Use – Living expenses if your condo becomes uninhabitable due to a covered event.
-
Liability to Others – Protection if you’re held responsible for someone’s injury or property damage.
-
Medical Payments to Others – Helps cover medical expenses for guests injured in your unit.
What Is Not Covered by Standard Condo Insurance?
It’s equally important to know what typically isn’t covered so you can plan ahead.
Standard HO-6 condo insurance usually does not cover:
-
Termite or pest damage
-
Mold issues
-
Repairs needed due to lack of maintenance
-
Tree removal not caused by covered damage
-
Damage to systems (like A/C) from neglect or poor upkeep
